Chicopee Concrete started as Leo Concrete in 1953.

Leo Ouellette Sr. was a foundation contractor during the early 1950’s in Chicopee MA.  At the time, Westover Air Reserve Base was very active and there was a shortage of homes in the area for Service Families.  Leo, at the time was having a hard time keeping up with the demand for his foundations due to the local Ready Mix Concrete producers being unable to keep up with the pace of his company.

Around this time, Leo decided that the solution to his problem of getting Concrete when he wanted it was to produce his own Concrete.  So, he built a plant on Prospect Street in Chicopee to do so.

As time went on, other Concrete Contractors began to use Leo’s Concrete for their projects.  With a strong focus on Customer Service and Quality, Leo’s business continued to grow.

In 1971 Leo Sr. was joined by his son Leo (Lee) Jr. who after completing military service, joined the family business as a Ready Mix Driver.  Now, Lee runs the company along with his sons Jason and Chase.

As the third generation of Ouellette’s continue to grow the company, we now have four plants in three locations and continue to grow to serve the needs of our customers.
